How hands-on are you as a company?
Extremely – it’s our USP and part of our ongoing customer service. We have lots of high-end clients and we will always go the extra mile to ensure they receive the highest level of personal service. Recently, for example we visited Wentworth Golf Club in Surrey to deliver a preloaded mobile phone to a professional golfer who was in the country for the prestigious PGA tournament. Increasingly a lot of our customers are flying into the country and simply don’t have time to sort out their communication requirements themselves. They don’t want to be bothering with tariffs – as long as the phone works, they are happy. Having established how they will be using their mobile, on arrival we will have the phones set up and working with a preloaded sim card, phone number and a tariff that suits their needs.
How diverse is your mix of clients?
Very. We look after everyone from one of India’s richest businessmen supplying mobile phones for his staff and family and broadband in his UK home office, to a young and vibrant London based PR company whose fast paced working environment requires ‘hands on’ account management at all times. We provide our fixed line and mobile solutions to UK-based businesses nationwide ensuring that no matter how big or small the business everyone benefits from the same level of high quality service.

What’s the future for your industry?
Increasingly it’s all about being data-rich. People rely on data, which means that mobile broadband devices are more important than ever. Being constantly connected to wifi networks while you are in the car is something we will soon take for granted.
You are celebrating your tenth anniversary as a business this year. Congratulations!
Thank you, it’s hard to believe a decade’s gone by so quickly. I was 22 when I set up Netcom Solutions, with the aim to diversify into the business sector having previously worked in the mobile phone retail industry. In that time we’ve gone from strength to strength and we now work with some ultra high-net-worth individuals. Our aim going forward is, as ever, to continue to grow the business and deliver the highest possible standard of personal service. We seem to be doing something right so far and are very much looking forward to the next 10 years!
