Behind every great fashion brand is an even greater story. Hunter is one of the most recognisable British luxury brands today, with its Original boot firmly established as a style classic. The brand holds two Royal Warrants, not only because of its rich heritage, but because it continues to evolve in the ever changing world of style and innovation. Over the years it has garnered popularity from the likes of Lady Diana Spencer to Kate Moss, and with the recent launch of their new CORE Collection under the Hunter Original umbrella, we can see just how much the brands history continues to inspire it to where it is today
For more than 150 years, Hunter has merged functionality, fashion and true British style. The result? High quality footwear that excels in any environment. The brands unparalleled relationship with the British weather has always been at the heart of its DNA, from its humble beginnings in the mid 1870’s to its discernible status today. It’s a brand that has never shied away from its history and pioneering design, and it continues to build upon this, making it one of most relevant and progressive brands in today’s fashion world — a fusion of tradition and technology.
Aside from its heritage, Hunter has celebrated modern-day history — when Kate Moss wore the Original boot on the muddy fields of Glastonbury in 2005 (the ultimate proving-ground), the brand changed from then onwards. Alasdhair Willis joined Hunter as Creative Director in 2013 and wanted to harness the spirit and creativity of the brands founders while ensuring that the brand continued to evolve. He introduced Hunter Original and Hunter Field which have formed two separate pillars to the brand. From the birth of the Original wellington boot to the new CORE Concept collection, Hunter has never compromised its fundamental values.
Alasdhair Willis commented saying that, “Hunter has a passion for embracing the elements and having fun with wet weather. It’s this essential part of our DNA that we’re celebrating with CORE Concept. The collection takes the British obsession with weather and turns it on its head: how can Hunter put a smile on your face, even on the rainiest of days? Rain Starts Play was the starting point for the collection and allowed us to be innovative and fun with our campaign – it really encapsulates the irreverent, pioneering spirit of Hunter which is so integral to this 160-year-old progressive heritage brand.”
Hunter will continue to build on their affinity with the countryside and heritage of pioneers, to present a new generation of technical products to protect against the unpredictable British elements.
