This summers it is collaborating with Rambert dance company to bring a realisation of Creation by Joseph Hadyn through music and dance. The National Trust
The National Trust has a wide programme of outdoor musical events taking place this summer, from Saturday Night is Music Night on Saturday July 16 at Ightham Mote in Kent with a professional three-piece band to the Blickling proms in Norfolk (below) with BLAKE on Saturday 13 August 2016 – one of the biggest occasions on Norfolk’s social calendar.
Midsummer Night’s Dream, Glyndebourne
Among the many highlights of the Glyndebourne this summers is the spell-binding Midsummer Night’s Dream, allowing you to escape into a dreamworld where love potions are used to devastating effect, spells are cast, flowers come alive and trees whisper and dance as a huge cast of lovers, fairies and rustics find their worlds colliding. Britten uses beguiling music in this classic retelling of Shakespeare’s comic masterpiece. 11-28 August 2016.
Proms in the Park
The 2016 BBC Proms season kicks off on July 15, with Proms in the Park on 10 September 2016 acting as a glorious culmination. Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons will be headlining this year’s BBC Proms in the Park and the open-air concert will include performances by ABC, All Saints, Tim Minchin and Sir James Gallway, among others.
Mezzo-soprano Laura Wright, Britain’s Got Talent winners Collabro and the Military Wives Choir will be joining Orchestra Sinfonia Viva at Donington Live, the East Midlands’ newest cultural music event.
