Here Beyond Bespoke founder, Lucie shares an insight into the inspirations behind launching the shop and why it’ll be the most unique shopping experience you’ve had.
What inspired you to launch a shop alongside the existing Beyond Bespoke website?
The main Beyond Bespoke website is a directory and features articles and insights behind British brands – now it’s time to let our readers shop directly with these brands, with a view to make the user journey as simple, uncomplicated and painless as possible.
Explain a little bit about the shop – how will it deliver something new not only to your audience, but to the world of e-commerce?
Beyond Bespoke’s focus has always been on British brands, and the new shop element won’t stray from this. It will exclusively feature British products of the highest quality and craftsmanship, which is something no one else delivers on. The products will be hand selected by me, which will ensure that we’re presenting the best of the best with regards to heritage, style and innovation. It takes the guesswork out for our users and creates an easy and enjoyable shopping experience. We intend to concentrate on seasons, activities and events – it’s a focused shop, a carefully curated collection, not just an endless stream of products.
How will it fit in with your current flow of editorial content?
It’s the perfect complement to our digital magazine because it ties in the brand stories and heritage with their products. Intertwining the two will give our users the ultimate guide to British luxury and a guide to making the right gift decisions.
What can we expect to see from the shop and where do you see it heading in 2017?
We’re launching the shop with a Christmas collection to take us into the New Year, which will feature everything from Christmas food and drink to technology, toys and beauty products. 2017 will see many more themes… Keep your eyes peeled for a wellness selection! Something we hope to make a core feature of the shopping experience is an ‘ask the expert’ element – it’s the whole idea of taking time to do the research for our users so they don’t have to.
