Catch the last of the Summer Sun - Three British watches to ride the waves with

Posted on by Lizzie Watson

Whilst most of us have packed away the beach towels and flapped the residual sand from our picnic blankets, there'll be many others who bridge the cooler summer-into-autumn beach days, and get out into the surf.

A surfer's life isn't governed by the warmth of the sun or the sea, it's a calling - a dedication to a world on the edge of a wave - and as the chill in the air gets decidedly brusk, the avid surfer is chasing the last of the summer sun.

Elliot Brown Watches are tried and tested at extreme levels to bring you watches that have been designed to join you in all the waters of the world; if you transform regularly from 'smart to surfer' then you need a watch that's highly capable, reliable and dependable enough to make that transition with you.

Boasting top-class functionality, superior shock-absorption and brilliant elegance over a wetsuit, these three watches are your best match for riding the waves.

Behind the glass details of the BLOXWORTH

British Watches

The Bloxworth is a classic 'tech-diver' watch designed to go-anywhere and do-anything.

So what can you expect?

* Interchangeable strapping options - switch from canvas, solid steel bracelets, and pebbled leather.

* Heavy-duty clasps extend quickly and elegantly for use over a wetsuit.

* This watch casing is machined from solid marine-grade stainless steel and is finished with a hardened anti-reflective mineral crystal for clear vision in all conditions.

* Awesome Superluminova detailing on the hands that shine brightly at night providing outstanding legibility; you can be out on the water until the sun goes down.

* The crown and push-buttons are knurled for superior grip in harsh conditions.

Behind the automatic precision of the TYNEHAM

British Watches

The Tyneham is an automatic watch with exquisitely considered details, boasting 'everything you need and nothing you don’t.' Inspired by one of Elliot Brown's favourite UK coastal retreats -Tyneham Cap - this watch is built to thrive in harsh conditions.

Tyneham Cap a prominent, grassy knoll, 167 metres (548 ft) high, on the South West Coast Path in Dorset, England. It rises above Brandy Bay and has extensive views along the Jurassic Coast across to Kimmeridge Bay.

As an ode to the watches provenance, the back is precision engraved with hand-drawn contours from Tyneham Cap itself. Elliot Brown also offers a limited edition numbered display back revealing the movement and custom rotor through a sapphire window.

This watch is stylishly competent whilst being remarkably durable and ultimately capable.

So what can you expect?

* A two-stage shock absorption system.
A stainless steel movement cage, surrounded by a proprietary shock absorber allowing the whole assembly to float inside the outer case. Secondary shock resistance comes in the form of the balance staff shock protection system built into the movement. It means that although it’s an automatic, the Tyneham will take the kind of punishment Elliot Brown is renowned for.

* The crown is ergonomically positioned away from the wrist and neatly recessed into the case for increased durability.

* Triple seals ensure it remains fully sealed in all positions.

* There are two styles of hands, both inspired by traditionally bold instrumentation. Each style compliments the dial and colour palette, and a first for Elliot Brown is the white SuperLuminova detailing that glows a cool blue.

Behind the finely brushed and polished case of the KIMMERIDGE

British Watches

What exactly are the elements that constitute the perfect Elliot Brown ladies watch?
The Kimmeridge is a 'less is more' watch and is simple, elegant and built to exactly the same standards as every other Elliot Brown watch.

So what can you expect?

* Inside the finely brushed and polished marine grade stainless cases, lies a Swiss made 5-jewel Ronda calibre 715 quartz movement, housed in our unique shock absorbing housing.

* The crown is triple sealed to prevent dust and moisture from entering the watch even when its pulled out into the adjust position, and every watch has been tested in water at 200m.

* The dials are clear and easy to read with a custom date window at 4 o'clock and bright luminous ink flooding the hands.

All three watches allow for interchangeable straps using an easy-change screw in bar system. This will completely change the look of the watch allowing for great diversity when you're out on the water, beneath it, or waiting to get in it.

These are watches that will last a lifetime; their life story as exciting as your own.
