London Fashion Week is fast approaching, don’t miss out on your chance to secure tickets for Julien Macdonald’s eagerly anticipated AW17 Fashion Show. On February 18 Julien will be showcasing his new bespoke fashion collection for autumn/winter.
Julien Macdonald MBE first gained recognition as head designer of knitwear for Chanel, before launching his own label in 1998. His collection ‘Mermaids’ established his reputation as a leading British fashion designer.
In 2001 Julien was named British Fashion Designer of the Year at the ELLE Style Awards and was also appointed as successor to Alexander McQueen’s as Creative Director at Givenchy.
Julien’s success continued in the following years with awards including British Glamour Designer of the Year and GQ Womenswear Designer of the Year in 2003, before being asked to redesign the British Airways uniform in 2004. In 2006 Macdonald was awarded an OBE for his services to the British fashion industry.
Julien launched his atelier in 2013 and shortly after, his eagerly anticipated ‘Viva Las Vegas’ show at London Fashion Week was packed with celebrities and cemented his status as the king of glamour.
In recent years, Julien designed the outfits for The English National Ballet’s performance ‘Tempus’ at the Queen’s coronation festival, and he has also appeared on the television show ‘Britain’s Next Top Model’.
