Ascot Firework Display

Posted on by Abbie Coombes

On Saturday 3rd November, Ascot Racecourse will replace the sound of thudding hooves, with the sizzle, crack, pop and bang of one of the region's largest firework displays. This is all before top-class Jumps racing, free fairground rides and live entertainment. It promises to be a fun-filled family day out.

From 12.40pm on 3rd November, Ascot's race track will be filled with some of the most renowned and successful Jumps jockeys who will be eagerly anticipating to race over one mile, six furlongs. The £100,000 Sodexo Gold Cup Chase over three miles will be the feature race of a seven-race card on the track.

Off the track, the children can revel in all the fun of the fair (minus goldfishes though, I'm afraid!) They can however, enjoy rides on the Sizzler Twist, The Superbowl, Dodgems and Teacups. All of the rides are free until 4pm and after this time only cost £1 with all of the proceeds going towards local Berkshire charities and schools. There will also be face painting, pony rides and the children will be kept entertained by the performing modellers, jugglers and Ascot Greencoat Bear.

Adults, don't fear however; there are plenty of treats for you to enjoy too. This includes Toffee Apple Punch, a Smoked Cherry Old Fashioned, Hazelnut Hot Cocoa and Mulled Gin & Juice, all whilst watching the races.

This spectacular day out seeks to totally embody a 'Festival of Lights' theme' which will see a number of LED sculptures, glow-in-the-dark art installations, light entertainers and LED graffiti walls, which will each be illuminated just before a magnificent twenty minute firework display.

Tickets for the event start from £19 for the Queen Anne Enclosure when booked in advanced and under 18s go free.*
