Eneko at One Aldwych

Acclaimed three Michelin-starred chef Eneko Atxa (of Spanish restaurant Azurmendi fame) has taken inspiration from his home town of Bilbao to create one of the best restaurants in London’s first Basque-style brunches – served at the One Aldwych – his first London restaurant. The authentic menu is rooted in the region’s rich gastronomic heritage and traditional flavours – expect dishes featuring Gernika beans with Savoy cabbage and piparrak; a signature dish featuring scrambled eggs, sautéed potatoes and jamon and also Asador charcoal-style grills including duck breast with green Gernika peppers and Rhug Estate rib eye steak with spring onion salad – alongside a range of Basque-inspired aperitovos. Brunch is available every Saturday (from the 4th February) and every diner receives a complimentary glass of cava.

After opening its doors to critical acclaim last October, Italian favourite, Margot, is now serving up a weekend brunch menu. The menu includes a selection of brunch classics with an authentic Italian twist, such as poached eggs served with avocado bruschetta and crispy pancetta and crespelle al limone (Italian lemon pancakes) with wild berries and mascarpone. There is also a selection of cocktails and fresh juices. Brunch is available every Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 to 16:00 and can be enjoyed against the backdrop of one of London’s most beautiful restaurant interiors.
