Style File: the boot edit

Posted on by Beyond Bespoke

As summer slowly starts to draw to a close (I know, sad, isn’t it? – I can barely bring myself to think about it in the midst of one of the hottest Augusts in years), there is one solace to be found: the arrival of the autumn boot. Walk down any street and you will see them popping up in the stores, bright, shiny and expectant as conkers – waiting patiently until the time comes when they can kick up all those lovely crisp autumn leaves.

I’ve been a fan of Penelope Chilvers boots and their mix of playful good looks and resilience for a while now – how often can you go straight from the mountain to the town and still manage to look chic? Dedicated PC fans will love the new Safari Fogle, which was born out of a collaboration with the adventurer and broadcaster, Ben Fogle – the oiled suede contrasts with an unexpected (in a good way) camouflage side detail, and for those who don’t like their boots looking too new they have a pleasingly worn-in appeal to them. Just the thing to take your mind off the fact that September is just around the corner. And way more sturdy than a flip-flop.
