The bar has great local beer and some great spirits, malts and fine wines. The staff are relaxed and you feel as your staying in someones country house rather than a hotel.”

Wales Winner: Lake Vyrnwy Hotel, Llanwddyn, Montgomeryshire
“Arriving in the middle of nowhere feels like an adventure before you begin, but its actually not too far from civilisation making it accessible to many. Total immersion in the sport at this location which is truly stunning. The most fantastically challenging high bird shooting and of course wonderful food. All set in a very traditional lodge hotel steeped in history and hidden from the real world just like a fairy tale. All extremely friendly and most accommodating service to boot. Just the perfect experience even for the hardened game shooting man.”

South East Winner: The White Horse, Chilgrove, West Sussex
“They have Shoot Butlers and Little Shoot Goody bags in the rooms for the morning after. Great wine list, awesome Baronial style private dining room, gun cabinets, Orvis dog beds in the rooms for furry friend’s, sell hats, socks and dog coats and even gifts for the ladies left at home.”

East Anglia Winner: The Jockey Club Rooms, Newmarket, Suffolk
“The Jockey Club is the most special shoot venue, and is steeped in history. The staff are wonderful, and the accommodation is outstanding. It is also proximate to many local shoots, and they will arrange transportation too. This is amongst the BEST of shooting accommodation.”
