The annual LAPADA Art & Antiques Fair, the leading destination for international collectors and buyers looking to source one-of-a-kind art and rare antiques, returns for its ninth edition on Friday, 15th September until Wednesday, 20th September 2017.
Established in 1974, LAPADA the Association of Art & Antiques Dealers is the largest society of professional art and antiques dealers in the UK. It boasts over 500 worldwide members, who are experts in their fields, with specialities ranging from fine art, jewellery and furniture to contemporary works, sculpture and ceramics.
The LAPADA Fair is situated in Mayfair’s elegant Berkeley Square, the heart of London’s most exclusive neighbourhood, top luxury shopping destination and thriving business area. Surrounded by the finest boutiques and restaurants, distinguished hotels and the country’s leading art and antiques galleries, it boasts the most attractive and accessible location the city has to offer.
Over 100 prominent specialists are brought together for a week, offering highly sought after works in a broad variety of disciplines, including decorative arts, furniture, fine art and jewellery from antiquity to the present day. It is the opportunity to discover objects and discuss them in person with dealers who freely share their expertise that makes the LAPADA Fair such an exceptional experience.
Due to its reputation as a modern day cabinet of curiosities, of exceptional quality, the LAPADA Fair has become a must-visit fixture in the Capital’s Autumn art season, welcoming over 20,000 local and international visitors in 2016. With prices ranging from £500 to £500,000 it has an extensive appeal.
The LAPADA Fair is the flagship event of LAPADA the Association of Art & Antiques Dealers, the largest society of professional art and antiques dealers in the UK. Visitors can buy with confidence in the knowledge that each exhibitor, as a member of LAPADA, must adhere to a strict Code of Practice and an expert committee of 70 specialists is assigned the task of pre-vetting every piece individually for authenticity.
Mieka Sywak, Director of the LAPADA Art & Antiques Fair, comments: “I am delighted to announce that the dates for the 2017 edition of the LAPADA Fair means it will run from Friday through to Wednesday. This will give us the opportunity to bridge two weeks in September and will allow us to benefit from coinciding with London Fashion Week (15th – 19th September), which attracts thousands of additional international visitors to central London. We will also run alongside the 20/21 British Art Fair, which takes place for the first time at The Mall Galleries, St. James’s, London SW1 (13th – 17th September).”
