“You should be able to look at an animal sculpture in the eye and see life.” – Hamish Mackie

Hamish Mackie has been crafting award-winning bronze and silver sculptures of wildlife subjects for almost twenty years. With an incredibly original approach and deft virtuoso technique, Hamish reinterprets a once primeval impulse into an unprecedented contemporary configuration. To look at Hamish’s work is to gaze back to the very origins of art, reimagined with compelling modern sophistication. It is often said that spectators of his art feel as if they are in the actual presence of the creature portrayed.

Hamish has recently won a major public art commission for six life- and one quarter-sized bronze horses for Berkeley Homes Goodman’s Field development in London. Hamish also exhibits his works in public and private collections all around the world.
