Established in 1999, John C Benjamin Limited is an independent jewellery consultancy.

Private clients are provided with comprehensive and impartial advice regarding the sale and purchase of fine jewels, diamonds and gems, via the companys’ extensive network of international dealers and Salerooms. The consultancy also specialises in valuations for clients of leading insurance companies including Hiscox, Oak, Chubb and Zurich.

John’s career in jewellery started at the age of 17 when he served an apprenticeship at the London antique shop, Cameo Corner, here he qualified as a Fellow of the Gemmological Association and gained the Associations’ Diamond Diploma with distinction.

He subsequently joined Phillips International Fine Art Auctioneers, ultimately becoming director of the jewellery department responsible for the sale programme in London and Geneva.

John is a regular contributor to BBC’s Television’s ever-popular Antiques Roadshow and is the author of Starting to Collect Antique Jewellery.

A lecturer, author and jewellery historian, he is a fellow of the National Association of Goldsmiths Institute of registered valuers and is a Freeman of the City of London.
