The design on this elegant pocket square is taken from a painted panel of glass, which was originally made in Holland in 1629 and is now in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum. In the middle is an oval medallion with figures of Joseph, Mary and the young Christ, with a selection of birds and plants, which were copied from zoological and botanical manuscripts. One of the finest pocket squares we produce, the colours combine beautifully and work superbly for a subtle dash of colour in a more formal environment to something much more flamboyant and radiant. Using a lightweight silk means that when held to the light you can see the design truly as it was intended to be seen back in 1629.
